Minimum orders and travel charges

We have a minimum order value for delivery/set up of £800 in the grimsby/clee area. Outside of this area is by separate negotiation. We deliver only within 30 miles of our DN31 postcode and this is subject to a minimum order and travel charge.

Travel is charged at 65p per mile from our base in dn31 to your venue for decor orders, payable both ways for collection and return outside of this area

Our minimum order excluding delivery is £1000 for venues up to 15 miles away, or £1500 for venues up to 35 miles away, we do not cover any areas over and above this area

Travel is charged at 65p per mile from our base in dn31 to your venue for decor orders, payable both ways for collection and return outside of Grimsby and Cleethorpes

For example: DN31 to Brackenborough Arms - is 14.2 miles. Total mileage to collect and return 56.8 miles multiplied by 0.65p = a delivery charge of £36.92

DN31 to Lazaats Cottingham - is 30.7 miles. Total mileage to collect and return is 122.8 multiplied by 0.65 , a delivery charge of £79.82

For magic mirror or ice cream cart bookings, set up is free in the Grimsby . Cleethorpes areas, outside of this area is £25 for travel up to 15 miles, or £35 for venues up to 35 miles. Outside of this is not covered. 

Hired Items / Deliveries / Chair Cover Fittings

All balances must be paid in full 6 weeks prior to the event at the latest, unless discussed and approved in writing.

Please ensure that access is sufficient to your venue and that there is enough space to site the items which you have


Due to our workload, you will have an allotted time slot for your delivery.


If we are unable to gain access to the venue at the time and date which you have confirmed, then we may, depending on our schedule, not be able to return to redeliver, and no refund will be given. Please note that changes to the time of delivery will be strictly subject to our workload and this may not always be possible. Deliveries are booked in strictly on a first come first served basis. Items are hired for a maximum 24 hour period unless otherwise agreed – if we are unable to collect on the day

following the hire , we reserve the right to charge an additional full days hire. Items are to be set up by us in an

agreed place. Under no circumstances can items be moved unless agreed by us

Item hired must remain indoors at all times, unless prior consent is obtained from us

Under no circumstances must anything such as banners and pictures be attached to our hired items


To reserve a day and time for your booking, you will need to pay a non refundable deposit noted at the top of this


ITEMS OR OTHER DATES.. We require full payment no later than 6 weeks prior to your event for hired items..

The cost of any lost or damaged items will be sent via invoice to you, which requests payment within 7 days.

In the exceptional case of total loss of our goods, you will be invoiced for the full cost of the item.

No delivery will be made without full payment being made. We reserve the right to withdraw our acceptance of your

order on the basis of not being able to deliver the goods requested. This will result in an immediate refund of any

monies paid to you and will be the full extend of our liability.


The item will be delivered and set up by us on a date and time specified by you. Should we suffer unforeseen delays

then we shall not be liable for a figure to exceed the hire cost paid for the item.

In the event of us not being able to set up the item at the agreed time /place, due to an error or fault on your party, we

reserve the right to charge a waiting time at the rate of £10 per person per hour.


Under no circumstances shall any of our liabilities exceed the invoice value of the contract. Happycakies or any of

our representatives shall not be liable in respect of any damaged/injury/loss or any other damage incurred in respect

of this hire agreement. The customer must satisfy themselves of the suitability/ condition/placement of the equipment

upon receipt.

DIY Hire

Many of our items can be hired DIY, and collected and returned to store. Unless otherwise arranged

COLLECTIONS from store are on a Thursday 10.30 – 4.30 and returns to store on a TUESDAY between 9.30

and 4.00. IF ITEMS ARE NOT COLLECTED between these times, we may not be available at any other time

and, as such you would forfeit the hire of the items and return of any monies. IF ITEMS ARE NOT RETURNED

between these times, you will be invoiced the equivalent replacement value of the hired item. This is because

we have such a fast turn around on items, and items returned on a Tuesday are often required to be rehired

on the Thursday by other customers. If you do not return, we risk letting other clients down , and as such

have to replace the item immediately to prevent this from happening


If for any reason you wish to cancel your order you should telephone 01472 485364 or email us Immediately. All cancellations or reductions in numbers of items hired must then be

confirmed in writing via email and will only become effective on receipt of your cancellation email – we will

reply to confirm receipt

You may cancel Your Order at any time before the start of the Hire Period subject to the following:

For orders cancelled 10 weeks or more before the start of the hire

period will incur a cancellation fee of their initial deposit PLUS 25%

of the total order value for those items

For orders cancelled LESS than 10 weeks to the start of the hire

period will forfeit their deposit and be charged the total balance of

the hire cost for those items
